About

The standard Kenyan businesses were not being offered

Haryes Web Developers is a web design and development agency based in Nairobi, Kenya. It designs and builds custom websites, WordPress and Shopify e-commerce stores, and custom web applications, and provides search engine optimisation, digital marketing and website maintenance services to businesses across Kenya. Founded in 2026 by Haryes Kebeya.

Why Haryes exists

Haryes Kebeya founded Haryes Web Developers in 2026 after watching Kenyan businesses pay real money for websites that were slow, that they did not actually own, and that nobody could maintain without breaking.

  1. A marketplace theme

The pattern was always the same, starting here.

  2. A page builder

Stacked on top of the theme.

  3. A stack of plugins

    Added to fill the gaps.

  4. Accounts in their name

A developer who registered the domain and hosting in their own name.

Two years later the site loaded in eight seconds, a core update had broken the layout, and the business could not move to another provider without a fight.

How we work

Every project runs to the same fixed, written process. You receive a written scope with a fixed price and fixed dates before any work starts, and the price does not move unless you change the scope.

  1. Discovery and scope

  2. Structure and design

  3. Development

On a staging server you can watch.

  4. Content and QA

  5. Launch and handover

Underneath that process sit a few non-negotiable rules:

  • A performance budget

LCP under 2.0s, page weight under 800KB, JavaScript under 150KB, tested on a real mid-tier Android device.

  • Hand-written code

No page builders, no bloat, only the CSS and JavaScript each page needs.

  • A pre-publish checklist

Run on every page, including our own: unique metadata, correct headings, validated schema, WCAG 2.2 AA.

  • Full handover

The code, hosting account and domain in your business’s name, plus training and documentation.

What we believe about ownership

A website is a business asset, and you should own your assets outright. We keep nothing as leverage.

  • Source code

Delivered in a repository registered to your business.

  • Hosting

The account is in your name, with billing you control.

  • Domain

Registered to you through an accredited registrar.

We also help businesses recover control of sites we did not build, moving a domain, hosting or codebase out of a previous developer’s accounts and into the client’s own. It is one of the more common first conversations we have.

What makes the approach defensible

An architecture is copyable. A competitor could replicate the structure of this site in a week. What is harder to copy quickly:

  • Original research: studies on the Kenyan digital market that other people have to cite, compounding over time
  • Real, named, verifiable proof: case studies with client names and figures the client can confirm
  • A visible performance gap: when our sites load in under two seconds and a competitor’s takes eight, any prospect can verify it with a free tool
  • The local operational moat: M-Pesa, eTIMS, KeNIC, the Data Protection Act, Kenyan network conditions, written from experience
  • Radical pricing transparency: real KES figures published in a market built on “contact us for a quote”
  • Early ownership of AI search: defining AEO and GEO for Kenya before anyone else sells it
  • The discipline of the checklist, applied forever: the part most teams abandon by month three

How we see the Kenyan web market

The Kenyan web design market has three broad tiers.

Template shops and freelancers

Template shops and bidding-site freelancers compete almost entirely on price, and the product is a themed site with stock content that will need replacing in a couple of years.

Competent generalists

A large group of competent generalist agencies doing acceptable work without a strong point of view.

Enterprise day rates

A handful of agencies bill something close to enterprise day rates, often for work that is not materially better than the middle of the market.

How we choose which projects to take

We are not the right fit for every enquiry, and we say so early.

A poor choice for

  • A business whose only deciding factor is price
  • A project that needs to be live in 48 hours
  • Anyone expecting guaranteed search rankings as part of a build

A good fit for

  • A business that plans to keep its site for years
  • A business that values owning its own assets
  • Anyone who would rather have a fixed written scope than the lowest quote

Each service page carries an honest “who this isn’t for” section for exactly this reason. Turning down work that is not a fit is better for both sides than taking it and disappointing someone.

What working with us looks like

After launch you can take a maintenance plan or run the site in-house with what we have handed over.

  1. Written proposal

After an initial conversation, with a fixed price and dates.

  2. Staging and check-ins

Once signed, access to a staging environment and a regular check-in (usually weekly) where you see the work develop.

  3. Design in Figma

Design is reviewed in Figma before code is written.

  4. Content schedule

So the project does not stall waiting for copy.

  5. Launch

You receive the code, the accounts, training, and documentation.

Credentials

We do not display a badge we do not hold, and we will not claim a certification we cannot show.

  • Registered Kenyan business

Haryes Web Developers holds a KRA PIN.

    Details on request
  • eTIMS-compliant invoices

Registration details are shared on request and in every proposal.

    In every proposal
  • Partner programme badges

Google Partner, Shopify Partner and Meta Business Partner badges will appear here as they are earned.

    As earned

Where we want this to go

The near-term goal is narrow and concrete: become the agency Kenyan businesses recommend to each other when the conversation turns to “who built your site?”

01The work
02The proof
03Original research
04A head start on AI search
The two things competitors find hardest to copy come last

That happens through the work, the proof, and the two things competitors find hardest to copy, original research on the Kenyan digital market, and a genuine head start on AI search, where we intend to have defined the vocabulary before anyone else is selling it.

The team

Haryes is founder-led. You work directly with the person building your project, not through a layer of account managers, with design and content specialists brought in per project.

No other permanent roles are filled at the moment. When that changes, the person is named here before they touch a project.

How to work with us

Ready to talk

Tell us what you are building, who it is for, and what a good outcome looks like.

You do not need a detailed brief, a few sentences is enough to start. You will get back a written scope with a fixed price and fixed dates, usually within a few working days, at no cost and with no obligation to proceed.

Everything we would tell you on a sales call is already written down.

The services pages explain what we build and how, the pricing pages show what it costs, and the insights library covers the wider subject in depth.

Straight answers

Who founded Haryes Web Developers?

Haryes Web Developers was founded in 2026 by Haryes Kebeya, in Nairobi, Kenya. Haryes leads development and the technical side of every project.

Where is Haryes Web Developers based?

Nairobi, Kenya. Phone +254 718 637 186. Email mmboheharyes@gmail.com. The agency operates from Nairobi and works with clients across Kenya.

How big is the team?

Haryes is a small, senior team led by founder Haryes Kebeya, who runs development and technical scope, supported by design and content specialists brought in per project. There is no layer of account management between you and the people doing the work.

What makes Haryes different from other Kenyan web agencies?

Six things, in combination: hand-coded builds held to a measurable performance budget, full client ownership of code and domain, published pricing in KES, original research, early focus on AI search, and a pre-publish quality checklist applied to every page without exception.

Does Haryes use page builders like Elementor?

No. Every build uses hand-written front-end code, and WordPress projects use a custom-coded theme rather than a page builder. Page builders add weight and fragility that make it hard to hold a site to the under-two-second load target.

Is Haryes a registered business?

Yes. Haryes Web Developers is a registered business in Kenya with a KRA PIN, and issues eTIMS-compliant invoices. Full registration and tax details are provided on request and included in every proposal.

Can I speak to the founder directly?

Yes. For project enquiries you deal directly with the people doing the work, including Haryes Kebeya on technical scope. Use the contact page to start.
